About me
Training & Work
My training is in clinical social work. While getting my degree at NYU, my initial training internship was in an outpatient chemical dependency clinic where I ran both recovery and process groups, as well as held one-on-one psychotherapy with patients. I secondly trained at a community HIV/AIDS center/ organization where I worked with unhoused LGBTQ young adults by connecting with them medical care, setting up housing options, and engaging in community outreach, as well as providing both psychotherapy, and support groups.
Upon receiving my degree, I worked in the field at an inpatient psychiatric hospital with individuals who struggled with chronic, persistent mental health illness, and at an outpatient mental health clinic providing psychotherapy for adults, children and families in underserved communities.
Since 2010 I've engaged in rigorous postgraduate training in psychoanalysis. It's my belief as a psychotherapist deeply committed to my craft, that lifelong learning and continuous training are paramount to providing the highest quality care to my patients. In the dynamic field of mental health, staying abreast of the latest research, therapeutic techniques, and advancements allows me to offer innovative and effective interventions tailored to each individual's unique needs. Embracing lifelong learning not only enhances my clinical skills but also fosters personal growth and self-awareness, which are essential for cultivating empathy, authenticity, and a deep therapeutic connection with my patients. By remaining open to new ideas and perspectives, I continuously refine my practice, ensuring that I provide the most comprehensive and compassionate care possible to support my patients on their journey towards healing and self-discovery.
